102 Tapping away self-sabotage | Claire Kerslake

We think that willpower should be enough. We think ‘why don’t I have enough willpower’ and we blame ourselves, so often there’s a lot of beating ourselves up
— Claire Kerslake -

We make over 200 food related decisions every day which is quite extraordinary.

It's not surprising therefore that we get decision fatigue. We often end up self-sabotaging our efforts even when we have decided to change something about our health.

Claire Kerslake and I had such fun in this interview and openly explored our own craving stories. Claire shares the powerful impact that tapping (Emotional Freedom Technique / EFT) has on minimising cravings as well as a constructive loving way to stop the self-sabotage.

097 How gut health and stress impact your sleep | Dr Natasha

The more we research gut microbes the more we realise they are truly in charge of everything else that is going on in our bodies
— Dr Natasha Campbell McBride -

It’s fascinating how the imbalance in our gut flora can lead to the digestive system being a major source of toxicity rather than a source of nourishment.

Yet it’s not surprising as Dr Natasha shares the commercial foods that are produced by commercial agriculture are full of chemicals which in their nature are antibiotics. We know that over use of antibiotics is one cause of leaky gut.

The other major issue we explore is that abnormal gut flora means the flow of hormones from them will also be abnormal. Both these issues along with chronic stress impact your sleep.

We spoke about

  • Where Dr Natasha’s passion for gut health began

  • How what we eat impacts the quality of our sleep

  • Exploring the link between sleep, gut and hormonal health

  • The impact of not getting good quality sleep
